Older versions of KMail have nice feature to mark messages as “replied” or “forwarded” manually. It was used a lot by me and my coworkers to mark messages “I replied/forwarded to the author via other mediums - phone or talked directly etc”. Nice and clear ...

After “usability attack” these possibilities were removed from KMail. The only answer I got from developers was “you can use custom tags feature if it will be available some day”. This isn’t acceptable for us of course. We need it now and it would be really nice if users can preserve their workflow with upgrades. We HATE to change our habits regardless what usability people think, OK?

As someone else might find it useful as well, there is little patch to make this feature available again - kmail-reply-forward.patch. Patch is against current (as 03.01.2007) 3.5 branch and it shouldn’t too hard to make it apply against older versions if you might need it.
